The Gannon men's basketball team kicks off the 2010-11 regular season this weekend when it hosts the 27th annual Gary Miller Classic at the Hammermill Center. The semifinals are scheduled for Friday, November 26. The consolation and championship games are slated for Saturday, November 27.

Former Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Northern Michigan and NAIA member Daemen (N.Y.) open semifinal play Friday evening at 6 p.m. Gannon and West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) member Seton Hill follow at 8 p.m. The consolation and championships contests are also scheduled for 6 and 8 p.m.

Ticket windows will open both nights at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for non-Gannon students and senior citizens. All Gannon students are admitted free of charge by showing their school ID at the gate.

Gannon was picked to finish fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division, according the preseason coaches poll. Head coach John T. Reilly's program returns five letterwinners and three players who started at least three games from last year’s 13-15 squad. The Golden Knights qualified for their third consecutive post-season appearance last season. The squad tied for third place in the PSAC Western Division with an 8-6 conference mark despite graduating six of its top seven scorers from the previous season. The program won the PSAC and NCAA Atlantic Region championships two seasons ago.
