Javelinas Men’s Basketball Drops Exhibition Game

EL PASO, TEXAS – The Texas A&M-Kingsville men’s basketball team closed out their preseason schedule on Friday night losing 75-48 at NCAA Division I UT-El Paso in the Don Haskins Center.

            The Javelinas had a pair of players score in double figures.  Senior Antwan Mullins (Katy/Cinco Ranch HS) led the team with 16 points and five rebounds while junior Marcus Ford (Colorado Springs, CO/Mesa Ridge HS) added 13 points and six rebounds.

            The Hoggies shot just 28.3 percent from the field and made 9-of-27 three-point attempts.

            The Miners shot 50 percent from the field and attempted 23 more free throws than the Javelinas.  Randy Culpepper led all scorers with 17 points while Gabriel McCulley had eight points, grabbed a game high eight rebounds and blocked three shots.

            The Javelinas open the regular season on November 12 at Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
