Storrs Named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week

Bay City, Mich. - Grand Valley State junior Alvin Storrs was honored as the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week on Monday afternoon (Dec. 6), as released by the league offices. Storrs averaged 18.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 steals in a pair of home GLIAC wins over Ohio Dominican and Tiffin, pushing #16 GVSU's record to 5-1 on the season.

In the Lakers' 80-53 win over Ohio Dominican on Thursday (Dec. 2), Storrs tied a career-high with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting (3-of-4 from three-point range), while adding seven rebounds, three steals, two blocks, and a pair of assists. Storrs followed that up with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting, to go along with a career-high seven assists, four rebounds, and four steals in GVSU's 101-76 victory over Tiffin on Saturday (Dec. 4).

For the week, Storrs shot 70.6 percent (12-17) from the floor, made 5-of-8 three-pointers (.625), and 7-of-9 free throws (.778) in the two victories. On the season, he is averaging 11.8 points per game, while shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 61.5 (8-13) from three-point range, good for the second-best mark in the conference.
