KINGSVILLE, TEXAS The Texas A&M-Kingsville basketball teams play host to Lone Star Conference North Division rival University of Central Oklahoma on Saturday with the womens game at 1 p.m. and the mens game at 3 p.m. at Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
Fans will be admitted free of charge to the games if they bring a new toy to donate to Toys for Tots.
The Javelina women enter the game with a 1-5 record. Sophomore Victoria Gonzalez (Hidalgo/Hidalgo HS) leads the team with 11.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Freshman Novella Thomas (Corpus Christi/West Oso HS) chips in with 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. The Hoggies are averaging 57.3 points per game while giving up 68.5 points per game.
The Javlina men are coming off a 66-63 victory against Northeastern State on Thursday night and are now 3-4. They have four players averaging between 9.9 and 10.4 points per game. Antwan Mullins (Katy/Cinco Ranch HS) leads the team with 10.4 points per game and 17 assists. Marcus Ford (Colorado Springs, CO/Mesa Ridge HS) adds 10.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. They are scoring 59.1 points per game and giving up 60.0 points per game.
The UCO women are 3-1 and led by senior forward Ashley Beckley who is averaging 23.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
The UCO men are 7-1 and ranked eighth in the nation. Senior point guard Dauntae Williams leads the team with 18.3 points, 5.4 rebounds. 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
