EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- A late three-point field goal by Felician College senior guard Ryan Moseley (Teaneck, NJ) helped seal his team's 70-59 non-conference men's basketball victory over Shippensburg University on Friday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse. The contest was the first men's game of the 46th Annual Pocono Classic, a two-day tournament hosted by East Stroudsburg University. Suquan Gary (Paterson, NJ) led Felician (2-3) with 18 points and eight rebounds.
The Golden Falcons saw a 38-26 halftime lead steadily whittled down to a one-point advantage on two occasions by Shippensburg, the last time with four minutes, 55 seconds remaining. Felician was clinging to a 59-56 lead when, an instant before the shot clock expired and 1:06 to play, Moseley (seven points, three rebounds in 20 minutes) buried his second three-pointer of the game. Following one Red Raider free throw, Gary punctuated the victory with a running dunk.
Gary made 7 of 11 field goal attempts for Felician, which committed only eight turnovers. Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ) posted 15 points and seven rebounds, and Kashiff Foster (Somerset, NJ) had 12 points and six boards before fouling out. The Golden Falcons limited Shippensburg to 39-percent shooting from the floor.
The Golden Falcons turned a four-point deficit just over eight minutes into the game into a 24-17 lead with 7:16 to go in the first half, and never trailed again. Foster scored all 12 of his points in the opening 20 minutes to help his team open the double-digit advantage. Dylan Edgar (Shiremanstown, PA) was among four Red Raider double-figure scorers with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
