NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior forward Terrence Parkes of the Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team has earned honorable mention from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for his performance in the week ending Nov. 21.
Parkes averaged 17.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per-game in a 1-1 week for the Lightning. He led the team with 22 points and eight rebounds in an 84-71 win over Shippensburg and then recorded his second double-double of the season in a 76-74 loss to Cheyney, registering 13 points and 12 rebounds.
The 6-foot-6 forward out of New Rochelle, who transferred to GBC from Delaware State, has been dominant in the early part of this season. He is averaging 21.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per-game through three games.
This is Parkes’ first weekly conference honor of the season. Last year, he was named player of the week on Dec. 14. He was also named All-CACC 2nd Team at the conclusion of the 2009-10 season and earned a spot on the CACC All-Tournament Team.
The Lightning have now had a player earn CACC honorable mention two consecutive weeks. Senior guard/forward Sam McDuffie was honored in the first week of the season.
