FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The University of Tampa and Nova Southeastern University will meet in the 2010 Sunshine State Conference semifinals on Friday in Fort Lauderdale. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. with a spot in the SSC Finals on the line.
The Sharks earned the right to host the 2010 tournament while winning a share of the SSC regular season title with Florida Tech. The winner will advance to Sunday's final to meet the winner of the Florida Tech and Florida Southern match.
Nova Southeastern won the earlier matchup with Tampa, claiming a 1-0 victory on Oct. 8 in Tampa. The Sharks have now won two straight over UT as the Spartans had a seven game series winning streak prior to the 2009 season.
Tampa is looking for its first SSC tournament title since 2007 as it owns more titles than any other SSC school with three. Rollins, Saint Leo and Barry each have one tourney title apiece.
The game will begin at 7 p.m. Live stats will be available through www.tampaspartans.com.
