WALTHAM, Mass. -- Bentley University senior tight end Mike Slattery (Natick/Natick HS) has been named to the 2010 Daktronics Division II All-Super Region 1 second team by the region’s sports information directors.
Super Region One encompasses student-athletes competing in the Northeast-10 Conference, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, a total of 47 teams.
The six-foot-three, 245-pounder had an outstanding year for the Falcons in 2010 and was previously selected for the All-Northeast-10 first team. He was fourth on the team in receiving, with his 29 catches for 349 yards the best production by a Bentley tight end in a number of years.
Slattery’s final season included six receptions against both Saint Anselm and Southern Connecticut, and touchdown catches at Saint Anselm and American International.
Slattery finished his career with 43 catches for 492 yards and four touchdowns.
The first-team tight end was Ryan Travis of West Liberty State, who caught an amazing 126 passes for 1,402 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Bentley closed out 2010 with a four-game winning streak to register a winning record for the 20th time in 23 varsity seasons. The Falcons were 5-4 overall and tied for first place in the Northeast-10.
