Alpough, Ladao Land Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Laurels

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Juniors Chelsey Alpough and Heather Ladao of the University of New Haven women’s volleyball team have been awarded Northeast-10 Conference weekly honors for their efforts in the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, announced on Monday by the league office. The Chargers concluded their season in the semifinals of the tournament and an overall record of 27-3.

Alpough registered 78 assists, 17 digs, eight blocks, five kills and two aces in two matches against Pace and Bridgeport. She averaged 11.1 assists per set along with 2.43 digs per set and recorded just one ball handling error. The highlight of her week came against the Setters, when she posted a match-high 46 assists in a 3-1 victory. She finished the season with 1,100 helpers.

Ladao led the Chargers’ back row this past week, accumulating 37 digs in seven sets for a 5.29 digs per game average. In the semifinals against Bridgeport, she amassed a match-high 20 digs and two aces in three sets. Ladao concluded the season with 467 digs and 43 aces.
