#17 Mavericks Crush Marauders Saturday

Kuhl Earns Team-Best 13 Kills

Mankato, Minn. --- The Maverick volleyball squad swept the University of Mary Marauders Saturday, 3-0. Minnesota State defeated the Marauders by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-15.

Paving the way for MSU was senior right-side hitter Kimber Kuhl who killed 13-of-15 hits for the Mavericks, giving her an impressive .867 hitting percentage. Senior middle blocker Amanda Thompson recorded 10 kills on 17 attempts, giving her a .471 hitting percentage.

Junior setter Brittany Stamer dished out 40 assists, while sophomores Samantha Dale and Chelsea Fogarty each tallied five digs.

For Mary, Amanda Hennessy and Laci Murtha each earned nine kills.

The Mavericks (19-7, 10-7 NSIC) will return home to Taylor Center next Friday for a 7:00 p.m. contest against Bemidji State.
