NSIC Men's Basketball Weekly Release No. 6
#20 Taylor Witt
G, 6-3, 190, Sr.,
Morris, Minn. / Morris Area HS
St. Cloud State
Taylor Witt has a huge weekend for the Huskies as he scored 46 points and was 17 of 17 from the free throw line in a pair of two point wins. Witt scored a team-high 20 points for SCSU Friday night against SMSU, making six of 14 shots from the field, while going 2-for-5 from beyond the arc. He also made all six of his free throw attempts to go with four assists and two rebounds. Witt then put together one of his best nights of the season as he handed #21 Minnesota State their first loss on a game-winning basket. In the waning moments of the game, Witt dribbled down court and took the ball off a high screen to the left side of the paint where he buried the game-winning shot with a Maverick defender in his face to put the Huskies up for good with six seconds to go in the game. Witt finished the night with a game-high 26 points, while dishing out seven assists and making 11 of 11 shots from the free throw line to lead SCSU. He also made three shots from beyond the arc and recorded three steals and his first block of the season.
Over the weekend seven of the 13 NSIC games were determined by five points or less and six were within three points or less.
