Kansas City, Kans. – Lynn University’s men’s soccer team collected a pair of honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Friday. Scott Gordon was named Second Team All-South Region while the Fighting Knights squad garnered Team Academic Award recognition.
Gordon anchored a Blue & White defense that posted four shutouts and allowed just over six shots on goal per game. The Boca Raton, Fla., product also showed off some offensive skills during his senior season, netting a career-high three goals for six points.
Lynn earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award by posting a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and was one of just four schools from the Sunshine State Conference to be recognized for its academic success for 2009-10.
The Fighting Knights closed out the 2010 season with an 8-8 overall record.
