INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The round to the NCAA Division II men's soccer championship will begin at Rollins College with an opening round matchup between The University of Tampa and Barry University.
This marks the 22nd appearance for UT in the NCAA tournament, including the fourth straight. Since 2007, the Spartans have compiled a 6-3 overall record in the tourney. This marks the first-ever meeting between the SSC foes in the NCAA tournament.
The two-time defending NCAA South Region champions will begin the 2010 tournament on Friday, with the winner advancing to face Rollins College or the University of West Florida on Sunday.
UT will play in the first game of the semifinals, which is slated for 5 p.m. at Cahall-Sandspur Field and Barker Family Stadium. RC and UWF will follow at 8 p.m. with the winners set to square off on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Tampa, the 2010 Sunshine State Conference tournament champions, enters the regional with a 14-6-1 overall record. Barry (10-3-3) and Rollins (11-3-3) split the SSC regular season title while West Florida (14-4-2) are the champions of the Gulf South Conference.
