Six Belmont Abbey men's soccer players were named all-Conference Carolinas, as sophomore defender Aaron Weldon was named first-team, freshman forward Matt Dolan was named to the second-team and sophomore midfielder Jose Penaloza, junior midfielder Stuart Kirk, freshman forward Gianluca D'Agata and and junior goalkeeper Louis Liberatore each were named to the third-team.
Weldon, the team captain, started 16 matches as the Abbey's right back, scoring two goals and assisting on another.
Dolan finished the year tied for the team lead with six goals and five assists in 15 matches played. He is ranked nationally in six categories, including points per game (101), total points (132), goals per game (135), total goals (159), assists per game (81) and total assists (102).
Penaloza tied Dolan with six goals and two assists in 18 matches, while Kirk finished fourth on the team with three goals and four assists in 17 matches. Penaloza's six goals are 159th nationally.
D'Agata, who joined the team right as the season started, led the team with six assists to go along with two goals in 19 matches. His assists total is 55th nationally and his assists per game are 97th.
Liberatore played 12 matches in the goal, posting four shutouts with a goals against average of 1.27 and a save percentage of .731. He is 95th nationally in goals against average, 122nd in save percentage and 131st in saves per game.
