PSAC Women's Basketball Athletes of the Week - 1 (Nov. 16)

Lock Haven, Pa. - Monae Baker of Shippensburg was awarded the PSAC Women's Basketball East Athlete of the Week for her impressive effort for the Lady Raiders and Emma Fickel of Clarion took the honors as the PSAC West Athlete of the Week. Catherine Noack of Bloomsburg is the East Freshman of the Week and Kelsey Ryan of Lock Haven is the West Freshman of the Week.


PSAC East Player of the Week
Monae Baker, Shippensburg
Jr., F    Manhattan, N.Y./East Stroudsburg North (UPJ)

Baker posted a double-double in her debut for the Lady Raiders as Shippensburg mounted multiple-comebacks in a 94-92 double-overtime win at Shepherd. Baker finished with 20 points and 18 rebounds in the win. She spread her scoring out as she scored seven points in each half and added four more in each overtime period.


PSAC East Freshman of the Week
Catherine Noack, Bloomsburg
Fr., F    Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty

In her first collegiate game, Noack came off the bench to score a game-high 24 points to lead the Huskies to a 100-44 win over Penn State-Schuylkill. Noack shot 8-of-12 from the floor, including 6-of-10 from three-point range. Her nine rebounds also tied her for the game-high and she also dished out four assists and gathered two steals in the win.


PSAC West Player of the Week
Emma Fickel, Clarion
Fr. G     Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley

Fickel played a pivotal role in Clarion’s season-opening win over East Stroudsburg. With 49 seconds left in regulation and with Clarion trailing by three, Fickel hit the game-tying three-pointer to force overtime as the Golden Eagles would later pull out a 74-70 overtime victory on Saturday. She finished the game with 22 points, connecting on 4-of-6 shots from beyond the arc. She also added three steals and three rebounds in the win.


PSAC West Freshman of the Week
Kelsey Ryan, Lock Haven
Fr., F     Levisttown, Pa./Neshaminy

In her first collegiate game, Ryan came in strong off the bench for Lock Haven as she pulled down seven rebounds and scored four points while adding a steal in just 11 minutes of action. She helped the Lady Eagles pull out a 64-59 win over Post University last Saturday night to start the season 1-0.
