Merrimack’s Sabadoz and Burokas Haul in Daktronics All-Region Honors

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.- Juniors Robbie Sabadoz (Ottawa, Ont.) and Evan Burokas (Auburn, Mass.) of the Merrimack men’s soccer team recently received Daktronics All-Region accolades. Sabadoz earned a spot on the All-East Region first team while Burokas was named to the second team.

Sabadoz paced the Warriors and ranked first in the Northeast-10 Conference with 23 points on nine goals and five assists. The junior striker was a Northeast-10 All-Conference first team honoree this season and was named the NE-10 Player of the Week once this year. The co-captain’s only Player of the Week nod came on October 4 after Sabadoz netted the only goal in Merrimack’s 1-0 win over then-No. 2 Southern N.H.

Burokas was tops on the team with nine assists while also tallying five goals, giving him a grand total of 19 points on the year. The midfielder was tabbed to the Northeast-10 All-Conference second team this season after ranking second in the league in assists.

Merrimack finished the season with a 9-8-1 overall mark and a 5-7-1 record in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Warriors earned a trip to the Northeast-10 playoffs after finishing the season in eighth place. Merrimack was eliminated from the conference tournament after a 5-1 loss at No. 1 Franklin Pierce. Sabadoz notched the Warriors’ lone goal of the match in the 60th minute, putting the Blue and Gold up 1-0.
