Lademann, Sedlak Named Panther Student-Athletes of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Athletics News) – In recognition of their outstanding performances for the week of November 8 – 14, Casey Lademann (Women’s Soccer) and Justin Sedlak (Men’s Basketball) have been named Panther Student-Athletes of the Week.

Lademann, a junior forward from Flagler Beach, Fla., netted her record-breaking 15th goal of the season on Sunday in Tech’s second-round NCAA Tournament victory over Rollins. The score moved her past Teresa Brantley and Kelli Huarte, the program’s previous record holders for most goals in a single-season. Prior to helping the Panthers earn their first-ever Sweet 16 berth, she scored the equalizer in the final minutes of her team’s first-round match against Florida Southern.

Sedlak, a senior forward from Pezinok, Slovakia, led the Panthers to two victories in the Florida Tech Tip-Off Challenge, averaging 26 points, five rebounds, one block, and one steal per game. In an 83-79 win over Albany State, he tallied 26 points, six rebounds, one block, and a steal. In a 90-84 decision over Fort Valley State, he recorded 26 points once again, four rebounds, a block, and a steal. In two games, he shot an impressive 73 percent (19-for-26) from the field, 57 percent (4-for-7) from three-point range, and 67 percent (10-for-15) from the free throw line. For his efforts, the Sunshine State Conference awarded him with the first Player of the Week honor for the 2010-11 season on Monday.
