Buff receiver named LSC South Division Offensive Player of the Week
CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M placekicker Sergio Castillo has been recognized as the Lone Star Conference South Division Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Buffaloes’ 52-21 victory over East Central in Canyon, Texas, this past Saturday.
Castillo, a redshirt freshman from Mission, Texas (La Joya) accounted for 10 points in that contest, booting a 40-yard field goal (his only attempt) and was a perfect seven-of-seven on PATs.
The 14th-ranked Buffaloes travel to Warrensburg, Mo. this Saturday, November 20, to face 12th-ranked Central Missouri in first-round action of the 2010 NCAA Division II Football Championship. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. CST at Walton Stadium. The game may be heard over the Buffalor Radio Network and flagship station KGNC-AM in Amarillo, as well as KEYE-AM in Perryton and KJDL-AM in Lubbock. The contest will also be televised over KAMR-TV in the Amarillo area.
