HPU Men’s Soccer Lands Two First-Team All-PacWest Selections

Phoenix – Junior Chance Bukoski and sophomore Kainoa Kahui were named to the PacWest Men’s Soccer All-Conference First Team, announced today by the PacWest Media Office. Bukoski earned his third First-Team selection while Kahui was named All-PacWest for the first time.

Bukoski was a mainstay on the Sea Warriors attack. He ranked in the top two in nine statistical categories, including first in assists (8) and second in goals (13).  The forward from Kapaa High School also recorded five gamewinning goals, placing him second in the PacWest in that category.

Kahui moved from a right back position his freshman season to starting all 16 matches this year as a centerback. Along with senior Isaiah Guth, he anchored a Sea Warriors defense that posted eight shutout victories. Kahui also added four goals and one assist.

Also earning conference honors were senior Nathan Scott, junior Richard Guffens, and freshman George Fochive who were each named to the Second-Team, with Kimo Komomua earning Honorable Mention honors. Scott repeated his Second-Team selection from 2009.

HPU closed the season 12-6 overall and 11-3 in the PacWest. They finished second in the conference for the third consecutive season.
