The Broncos, who improved to 2-0 in exhibition games, recorded 19 steals and seven blocked shots while forcing 25 Grizzly turnovers.
The Grizzlies, who dropped a 10-point 84-74 exhibition decision to Division I Utah in their only other exhibition contest of the year last Friday, also went without a 3-pointer in the second half, which saw the Broncos build as much as a 15-point cushion after leading by just two (44-42) at the break.
Lee was 3-for-3 from the field and the free throw line in the first half and made both his first-half 3-point attempts as the Grizzlies shot 51.9 percent (14-27) from the field and 57.1 percent (4-7) from beyond the 3-point arc in the opening period. He had 11 points at halftime.
The Grizzlies got off to a great start and led 9-2 on a Lee trey just over two minutes in. They also led 15-5 before an 11-0 Bronco run, triggered by an Anderson jumper after a Grizzly turnover, put the home team up 16-15.
Later in the half, the Grizzlies used an 8-0 run featuring a Robby Hanzlik (Denver, Colo.) 3-pointer and a Lee 3-point play to go back up 35-26. They then extended that lead back to double-figures (38-28) on Lee's second 3-pointer with 6:05 left in the half but watch the Broncos use a 16-4 scoring advantage over the final 5:22 to take a half time lead. Arnold, who had 21 points and 10 rebounds overall, started that spurt with back-to-back dunks.
The Grizzlies continued to remain close in the early going of the second half and trailed by just one (52-51) with 15 minutes left but scored just two points while committing seven turnovers during a stretch of six minutes and were suddenly down 14 (69-55) at the mid-point of the second half.
Never able to mount another big run, the Grizzlies committed 12 second half turnovers and shot just 40.7 percent (11-27) from the field in the second half.
The Grizzlies, who had just six assists on 25 made field goals throughout the night, were also 0-for-4 from beyond the arc in the final 20 minutes although the Broncos made just one 3-pointer in the second half and five overall on 15 attempts (33.3 percent).
Lee hit on 5 of 8 shots from the field and 8 of 9 from the free throw line and was joined in double figures by Rayland Robinson, Jr. (Bryan, Texas) who scored 12 points on a 6-for-7 shooting night. Robinson, Jr., one of nine new Grizzlies on the 2010-11 roster, also was in double figures at Utah as he scored 11 points.
Anderson also had four assists and three steals for the Broncos while Montreal tallied 11 points and the same number of rebounds to pace the Broncos to a 38-33 total rebounding edge. Arnold also had 10 rebounds to go along with three blocked shots and a pair of steals while Westly Perryman tallied 11 points and an impressive game-high six steals.
Paul Noonan also added two 3-pointers and 11 total points in 24 minutes off the Broncos bench.
The Grizzlies, who used 13 players, had a 34-14 bench scoring advantage thanks in large part to nine points each from sophomore Jack Osborn (Hobart, Tasmania, Australia) and Marqus Richards (Los Angeles, Calif.).
The Grizzlies will begin the regular season in one week (Nov. 16) when they face NAIA Northern New Mexico in Espanola, N.M. They will then return home to take on Tennessee Temple and Oakwood (Ala.) during the Adams State Bankers Classic on Nov. 19-20.
The Broncos will begin their regular season on Saturday hosting the Grizzlies' biggest Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival in Western State.
