Ames, Iowa – The Minnesota State Mavericks participated in the Harold Nichols Open at Iowa State University on Saturday as three wrestlers placed in the competition.
Tel Todd had the best finish amongst Maverick competitors as he finished third in the 165-lb bracket with a 5-1 record. Todd is now an impressive 6-1 this season.
Joining Todd in placing in the open were Andy Forstner and Aaron Norgren who each finished sixth in their respective brackets. Forstner, who was ranked No. 1 in the 125-lb weight class, finished 3-3 on the day while Norgren, rated No. 3 in the 184-lb weight class, also finished 3-3 in his matchups.
The Mavericks will return to action on Saturday as they travel to Omaha, Neb. to compete in the UNO Open.
