SEARCY – Harding junior Daniel Kirwa and Harding head cross country coach Steve Guymon were recently honored by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Kirwa was named NCAA Division II South Region Cross Country Runner of the Year, and Guymon was named South Region Coach of the Year.
Kirwa won his third straight NCAA Division II South Region championship on Nov. 20 in Huntsville, Ala. He won the 10-kilometer race in 30 minutes, 28.3 seconds.
Guymon won his third straight Coach of the Year honor. His Bisons are won the South Region title and enter the national meet ranked 13th nationally.
