Gannon Football Team Concludes Regular Season Saturday Against 20th-Ranked Kutztown; Nineteen Seniors to Be Honored Prior to Home Finale

The Gannon football team, ranked sixth in the latest Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Lambert Meadowlands Division II Poll, concludes the regular season Saturday, November 13 against 20th-ranked Kutztown at Gannon University Field. Game time is scheduled for 12 noon. Gates and ticket windows will open at 11 a.m.

Gannon has won seven of its last 11 home games. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for non-Gannon students and senior citizens. All Gannon students are admitted free of charge by showing their school ID at the gate.

It will be Senior Day on Saturday as nineteen Golden Knights will be playing in the last collegiate game of their careers. All 19 will be honored during pregame activities. The group has helped improve Gannon from a pair of 1-10 seasons in 2006 and 2007 to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1995.

Head coach Jim Kiernan's squad will try to conclude the regular season as it did last season - with an upset of a nationally-ranked team. One year after posting a 10-7 overtime victory at 19th-ranked Bloomsburg in the 2009 season finale, Gannon hosts 20th-ranked Kutztown. Last season’s victory at Bloomsburg knocked the Huskies out of the post-season. A victory Saturday afternoon could possibly knock the Golden Bears out of the post-season this year. Kutztown is ranked third in the latest NCAA Division II Super Regional One poll.

Saturday's contest can be heard live on Jet Radio 1400. Live gameday audio can be found online at http://www.wergfm.com.
