Bonilla Named to Peach Belt All-Conference Team

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Junior Karen Bonilla (Manassas, Va.) of the Georgia College soccer team (7-7-3, 4-4-2 PBC) was named to the All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) team. Bonilla made the Second Team, marking the second such honor for the junior as she made the All-PBC First Team as a freshman.

The junior midfielder started 16 matches for the Bobcats this past season as GC outscored their opponents 23-18 in those contests. Bonilla was second on the team with two assists.

Georgia College soccer finished fifth in the Peach Belt doting the fourth-straight season with at least a top-five finish in the conference.

The Bobcats toppled two nationally-ranked programs this past season. Georgia College took down Florida Tech, who was ranked No. 13, 1-0. At the time, the win marked the highest-ranked team that the Bobcats had ever beaten, but less than a month later the ‘Cats defeated No. 8 Armstrong Atlantic 2-1, becoming the highest-ranked team that GC has defeated.
