LEXINGTON, Ky. - - The Truman volleyball team secured the No. 21 ranking in the final AVCA top-25 coaches’ poll, released Tuesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Bulldogs have now spent 153 consecutive weeks in the top-25 dating back to the 2000 season, moving into the Division II’s top-15 all-time in weeks ranked.
Truman concluded its 2010 season with a 25-8 record, its 11th consecutive postseason appearance, and a third-place finish in the MIAA. The Bulldogs had five players named to all-MIAA squads, including sophomore Megan Sharpe, who also earned third-team AVCA all-American honors and all-region accolades. Senior Allison Barker was also a second-team Daktronics all-region selection.
Concordia (Minn.)-St. Paul captured its fourth straight Division II title this past weekend and finished the season ranked No. 1 in the coaches’ poll, while the MIAA was represented by four programs in Truman, Central Missouri, Washburn and Emporia State.
