HPU’s Frida Aspnaes and Anders Ludvigsen Headline All-PacWest Cross Country Honors

Phoenix, AZ (11/16/10) – HPU’s Frida Aspnaes was named the PacWest Women’s Cross Country Runner and Newcomer of the Year, and Anders Ludvigsen was awarded the Men’s Cross Country Freshman of the Year. The announcement was made today on the PacWest Magazine radio show.

Also earning All-Conference honors from HPU was women’s runner Kim Kuhnert. The sophomore from Leverkussen, Germany received her second All-PacWest recognition in as many seasons.

Aspnaes, a junior from Norrkoping, Sweden, was nothing less than spectacular this season. She was named PacWest Cross Country Runner of the Week five times, and took top honors in the 2010 PacWest Championships, running the 6K course in 22:18.1.

Ludvigsen earned his Freshman of the Year honor after finishing sixth overall at the PacWest Men’s Cross Country Championships. He completed the 8K course in a time of 26:08.6.

Both HPU teams next travel to Bellingham, Washington for the NCAA West Region Championships. The races will take place at Lake Padden Park this Saturday, November 20. The men’s race will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the women’s race set for 11:15 a.m.
