BOSTON, Mass. -- It didn’t take freshmen Brittany Pandolph (Tewksbury/Tewksbury HS) or Ashley Nichols (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor HS) long to insert their name on the top ten lists for the Bentley University women’s indoor track team.
Making her collegiate debut at the Reggie Lewis Center in the season-opening Jay Carisella Invitational, Pandolph was 10th of 36 in the shot put, with her throw of 36 feet, 3.5 inches placing her second in Bentley’s all-time list.
Nichols, coming off a strong cross country season, debuted at number six on Bentley’s all-time list in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:52.76. She finished 12th of 19 in the race, with only five of the 11 in front of her competing for collegiate teams. Right behind her at 13th in the event, and number seven on the all-time list, was junior Evelyn Marrero (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam HS). Her time was 18:54.49.
Sophomore Caitlin Fahey (Bridgewater/Coyle-Cassidy HS) was 11th of 22 in the 3,000, with a time of 11:13.90, and freshman Kristen Reichlen (Boxborough/Acton-Boxborough HS), another making her collegiate debut, also ran well. She was 25th of 73 in the 200 with a time of 28.06 seconds.
Bentley’s final meet before the exam and semester break is the Harvard Invitational next Saturday.
