BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Curtis Trueb (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester HS) and freshman Eric Kennedy (West Hartford, Conn./Northwest Catholic HS) were among the top performers for the Bentley University men’s indoor track team during Saturday’s season-opening Jay Carisella Invitational, hosted by Northeastern University at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Trueb led a strong Bentley showing in the 3,000 meters, placing fourth of 39, behind three Division I runners. His time of 8:35.78 was good for eighth on the program’s all-time list. In the same event, sophomore Craig Robinson (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough HS) and junior Bryan Sutherland (Farmingdale, N.Y./Chaminade HS) were eighth and ninth, respectively, with times of 8:44.25 and 8:49.99.

Kennedy, in his collegiate debut, was ninth of 83 in the 200 meters, his clocking of 22.97 seconds placing him tenth on Bentley’s all-time list. He won his heat by nearly a full second.

Other personal bests were registered by sophomores Bryan Carton (Norwell/Norwell HS) and Teddy Farley (Acton/Acton-Boxborough Reg. HS). Carton was 16th of 65 in the 400 meters, taking his heat in 51.28 seconds, and Farley placed 20th in a 65-man field in the 5,000 (15:44.88).
