The University of Findlay women’s basketball team captured a 72-63 win on the road at Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday, December 11 in University Center, Michigan. The victory gives the Oilers a 6-1 record on the season with a 2-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Junior guard Clare Aubry and sophomore forward Kayla Brown led four Oilers players in double figures with 16 points apiece.
Aubry also tallied five rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal while Brown contributed three boards and three assists.
Junior guard Laura Bardall continued her solid all-around play with 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds while sophomore forward Tai Dotson recorded her first career double-double with ten points and ten boards.
The Oilers shot 47.5 percent (29-of-61) from the floor and forced 17 turnovers in the win. The Oilers added 28 points-off-turnovers compared to only 15 for Saginaw Valley State.
The Oilers will be back in action again on December 16 when they travel to Tiffin, Ohio to face Tiffin University at 8 pm.
