Morse Named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS - Metro State men's basketball player Jonathan Morse was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for his performance in two games last week.  Mesa State's Lance Fite was named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week.

For Morse, it was second player of the week award of his career.  Last season, he was named RMAC East Division Player of the Week on March 1.  Morse is the first player of the week for Metro State this season..

A 6-foot-7 sophomore forward from Boulder, Colo., Morse had eight steals, three blocked shots and pulled down 18 rebounds in two RMAC victories over the weekend. He had 22 points, eight rebounds and a career-high five steals in a win over Nebraska-Kearney on Friday. He had 14 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for his fourth career double-double on Saturday in a win over Chadron State.

Metro State will host Regis University at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
