Both gave a good showing in Division II semifinal match against Grand Valley State
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Women’s Soccer) – For their efforts in the national semifinal versus eventual champion Grand Valley State, Casey Lademann and Kelly Whittaker have been named to the NCAA Women’s Final Four All-Tournament Team.
Lademann, a junior forward from Flagler Beach, Fla., put pressure on the Lakers’ backline and their goalkeeper numerous times during the 90-minute contest. She fired off a game-high five shots, four of which were on target.
Whittaker, a sophomore midfielder from Coopersburg, Pa., provided quality defense and displayed her playmaking skills when the Panthers were on the attack. She concluded the match with one shot – it was on goal – in 77 minutes of action.
Joining the two Panthers on the final four all-tournament team were Amanda Deck and Christina Cuffari from St. Rose, Kristin Armstrong, Lisa Bradley and Annette IIg from UC San Diego, and Ashley Botts, Megan Brown, Jaleen Dingledine and Jenna Wenglinki from Grand Valley State.
The tournament’s most outstanding offensive player award went to Botts. Her teammate, Wenglinki, was awarded most outstanding defensive player.
