Seventeenth-Rated Mavericks Hit the Road for a Trio of NSIC Matches

Minnesota State is 16-7 Overall, 8-7 in the NSIC

On the Road Again:  The Minnesota State volleyball team, ranked 17th in the nation, will pick up Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action this Tuesday, November 2, when it travel to Crookston, Minn. to face the Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagles (0-23, 0-15 NSIC) at 7:00 p.m.. The Mavericks hit the road again Friday and Saturday for league-matches against Northern State (14-11, 6-10 NSIC) and Mary (5-20, 1-15 NSIC).  Friday’s match against NSU is schedule to start at 7:00 p.m., while Saturday’s match is slated for 4:00 p.m.

Program history: The 2010 volleyball season marks the 43rd year of volleyball as a varsity sport...Over the 43 seasons, the Mavericks hold a 679-551-8 record...The Mavericks have made seven NCAA post-season appearances, and they are: 1990, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2009.

Quick Notes:  The Minnesota State Volleyball team is 16-7 overall, 8-7 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference...Senior outside hitter Amanda Beekman currently leads the team in kills with 287 (3.38 per set) and sits fourth all-time on the kills list with 1,359, 20 short of taking over the third spot all-time, which is 1,379 and occupied by former MSU outside hitter, Ashley Nachreiner...Senior right-side hitter Kimber Kuhl is the owner of a team-best .335 hitting percentage, while also sitting tied for second on the team in kills with 230...Sophomore Outside hitter Chelsea Fogarty is the other Maverick with 230 kills this season...Junior Brittany Stamer recently joined the Maverick 3,000 Assist Club, currently at 3,214 during her career, 257 short of fourth all-time...Stamer owns 970 on the season...Sophomore Samantha Dale sits atop the team digs list with 293 this season...Senior middle blocker Amanda Thompson owns a team-best 69 blocks (0.81 blocks per set).
