Mines retains #16 spot in AFCA Top 25 Poll

GOLDEN, Colo. (Nov. 1, 2010) – Colorado School of Mines is ranked eighth in this year’s first NCAA Division II Super Regional Three top 10 poll, as announced today by the NCAA Division II Football Committee.

The Orediggers, who retained their #16 ranking in today’s American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, will play at Chadron State College on Saturday, November 6th, at 12:00 p.m. (MDT) at Elliott Field at Don Beebe Stadium in Chadron, Neb.

Mines will then conclude the regular-season portion of its schedule by hosting Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday, November 13th, at 12:00 p.m. (MDT) at Campbell Field.  November 13th will be Parent’s Day and Senior Day for the Orediggers.  CSM’s seniors, as well as their parents, will be recognized prior to the start of the game.

The 24-team field for the 2010 NCAA Division II football championships is scheduled to be announced on Sunday, November 14th.  Six teams from each of the four Super Regionals will qualify for the 2010 NCAA Division II football championships.  Regular-season conference champions do not automatically qualify for the 2010 NCAA Division II football championships.  However, earned access into the 2010 NCAA Division II football championships can be gained if a regular-season conference champion finishes in the top eight of their respective final Super Regional rankings.  The RMAC resides in Super Regional Three.
