Down to the Wire
No game this season has been decided by more than seven points, with the last three coming down to the final posession and the game before that going to overtime. After falling to UC-Colorado Springs in overtime, the Hounds picked up a 75- 72 win over Lubbock Christian. Over a week ago, the Hounds lost a pair of two-point games to Southwestern Oklahoma State and Cameron. Eastern has been especially stong late in games, outshooting the opposition by a .353-.118 margin from the floor.
Inside the Series
Eastern’s series against Texas A&M-Commerce has been one of streaks. The Lions have won the last seven meetings, including a 75-58 decision in Portales, last season. Prior to that streak, the Greyhounds had de- feated TAMU-Commerce four straight times, with the last win being a 90-75 decision on February 21, 2004, at Greyhound Arena. Kennis Green scored a game-high 21 points and ENMU outrebounded the Lions by a 41-25 margin, improving to 90-75. The victory helped springboard the Greyhounds to their second consecutive Lone Star Conference South Division title and a berth in NCAA Regionals, as Eastern played Nortthwest Missouri State on March 13, 2004.
