Duluth to host Northwest at 5 p.m. Saturday

MARYVILLE, Mo. — Minnesota Duluth (13-0) will host Northwest Missouri State (12-1) in an NCAA national semifinal game starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at Malosky Stadium the NCAA announced Saturday night. The game will be televised live by CBS College Sports.

The two programs last met in the 2008 national championship game in Florence, Ala. The Bulldogs led 21-0 early in the fourth quarter and held on to win 21-14 to claim the program’s first-ever national title.

The team’s only other meeting was a 45-41 Northwest win in Maryville in the first round of the 2002 NCAA playoffs. Saturday will mark the team’s first dual in Duluth.

The Bearcats have advanced to the national semifinals for the sixth consecutive year and for the eighth time in program history. Northwest is 7-0 all-time in semifinal contests and is looking to make an unprecedented sixth consecutive appearance in the national championship game in Florence, Ala.
