CSM defeats Nebraska-Kearney, 96-68

GOLDEN, Colo. (Dec. 17, 2010) – Colorado School of Mines defeated the University of Nebraska – Kearney by the score of 96-68 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) men’s basketball action on Friday night, December 17th, at Lockridge Arena.

Four of five CSM starters reached double figures in scoring, including Gordon Galloway, who led all players with 23 points.  Dale Minschwaner (game-most eight rebounds) and Sean Armstrong (six assists) finished with 16 points apiece and Trevor Wages accounted for 14 points and seven boards.  Brett Green added 11 points and Nico Mucci had five assists as the Orediggers achieved their first 8-0 start (4-0 RMAC) in program history.  The CSM program record for consecutive victories is 11 (December 13th, 2002 – January 23rd, 2003).

Mike Dentlinger (7-of-11 FG) scored a team-high 15 points for the Lopers.  Jesse Hill and Ben Klein recorded 10 and 12 points, respectively, as UNK fell to 5-4 overall (3-2 RMAC).

Mines will host Chadron State on Saturday night, December 18th.  The Orediggers will also host N.M. Highlands University and Western N.M. University on Sunday and Monday, January 2nd and 3rd.  All three games are scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. at Lockridge Arena.
