KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Metro State men's soccer players Tyler Wilson and Scott Crawford were both named to the NCAA Division II West Region All-Academic team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Friday. Wilson was a first team selection and Crawford was on the second team.
Wilson, a senior defender from Aurora, Colo., has a 3.39 grade point average in finance. He was named Daktronics first team All-Central Region and NSCAA second team all-region as the team's top defender. He had a plus/minus rating of +31. Wilson scored one goal and had an assist and helped the team to 10 shutouts this season. He started all 10 shutouts and the team went just 1-3 in four games he missed due to an injury.
Crawford, a junior midfielder from Arvada, Colo., has a 3.58 GPA as a sports industry operations major. He scored three goals and had three assists for nine points in 17 starts this season.
Wilson and Crawford were both named Academic All-RMAC this season as well.
Metro State finished the year 12-6-2 overall and 8-4-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
