Stark Earns Third Straight All-PSAC East Selection

EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University senior outside hitter Alyson Stark has been named to the All-PSAC East women’s volleyball second team for the third straight season, it was announced Tuesday.

Stark (Churchville/Council Rock South) finished a standout career in 2010, leading the Warriors in kills per set all four seasons and ranking fourth in school history with 1,029 career kills.

Stark and Michelle Powers of West Chester are the only two players among the 24 All-PSAC selections who have made at least three all-conference teams. She is the fifth ESU women’s volleyball player with three All-PSAC East nods in the last decade.

She set career-highs with 323 kills, 228 digs and 71 blocks this season and turned in 15 matches with at least 10 kills and eight with at least 10 digs. Four of those performances were double-doubles, including 12 kills and a season-high 17 digs vs. UMass-Lowell.

In her career, she reached double figures in kills in 53 of 112 matches. She had 174 kills last season, an average of 2.8 per game, despite missing a month due to injury; recorded 307 kills during ESU’s 2008 PSAC playoff season; and had 225 kills as a freshman.

Stark finishes her career ranked eighth in school history with 205 career blocks and is 11th with 99 aces. She also compiled 572 digs and averaged 2.8 kills, 1.5 digs and 0.6 blocks per set and a .186 hitting percentage in her career at ESU.
