Lewis’ Zac Bond Named To Daktronics Men’s Soccer All-Midwest Region First Team

Bond earns First Team honors for second-straight year; Ibarra tabbed to Second Team.

Romeoville, Ill. – For the second-straight season, Lewis University defender Zac Bond (Decatur, Ill./MacArthur) has been named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer All-Midwest Region First Team, announced on Tuesday (Nov. 16), as voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Bond played a key role in helping Lewis capture the 2010 Great Lakes Valley Conference regular-season championship, as the Flyers held opponents to 1.16 goals-per-game. A 2009 All-American, Bond is also a three-time All-GLVC honoree, claiming first team accolades in 2009 and 2010.

Bond is now eligible to be named to the 2010 Daktronics Division II All-America men's soccer team, which will be announced on Wednesday, December 1st.

Senior Jose Ibarra (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville) rounded out the honorees for the Flyers, as the Romeoville, Ill., native was selected to the Second Team. Ibarra, a 2010 All-GLVC First Team selection, posted career-highs in both goals (4) and assists (3) in his senior campaign.
