SRU’s Grossetti, Sikora join Pittsburgh Power

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Power recently added two Rock-solid elements to their first-year Arena Football League franchise with the addition of former Slippery Rock University standouts Terry Grossetti and John Sikora.

Grossetti, a wide receiver from New Castle, signed a contract to play for the Power Tuesday, four days after the team announced the hiring of Sikora as its Offfensive and Defensive Line Coach.

Grossetti finished his three-year Rock career ranked 10th in career pass receptions (98) and 11th all time in receiving yards ( ). After college, he played briefly with the Rochester Raiders of the Indoor Football League.

Sikora was a member of two ArenaBowl championship teams as a two-way lineman for the Albany Firebirds and Chicago Rush and "has a unique understanding of the Arena League trenches which benefit him greatly as a coach,” in the words of Power Head Coach Chris Siegfried.

Sikora, a two-time NCAA Division II All-America and All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division performer as a four-year letterwinner at SRU, was named as the Rush's "Lineman of the Year" in 2006. He currently coaches football at Central Cambria High School.

The Power, who will play their nine home games in the New Consol Energy Center in downtown Pittsburgh, are scheduled to open their inaugural season with a Friday night, March 11 matchup with their intrastate rivals, the  Philadelphia Soul.
