RMAC Volleyball & NCAA Women's Soccer Results

Women's Soccer:
Metro State advanced past Colorado Mines 5-4 on penalty kicks in the first round of the NCAA Division II women's soccer tournament in Durango.  Anna Evans put Mines on the board in the 27th minute, but Aubrey Fondy scored the equalizer for the Roadrunners in the 55th minute.  Arvada-native Ashley Nemmers converted the winning kick in the shootout.  Sarah Tanous made a career-high 10 saves for Metro State (13-5-3 overall), in addition to making two saves in the shootout.

Volleyball:
No. 12 Metro State advanced to the RMAC Tournament championship after topping Mesa State 25-14, 25-20, 26-28, 25-21 on Friday in Kearney, Neb.  Lone Tree-native Ngoc Phan continued her dominating defensive performance with 33 digs, a career high for a four-set match after recording 30 in Thursday's four-set victory.  Metro State is the defending tournament champion and has won five RMAC championships in the past nine years.
