Reid Represents Griffins On All-CACC Team

New Haven, CT – (11/2/2010) – Junior forward Gavin Reid (Dundee, Scotland) was the Griffins lone representative on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference Team, earning Second Team recognition for Chestnut Hill College. Senior forward Dwayne Reid (Bronx, NY) from Bloomfield College was recognized as the CACC Player of the Year while his coach Peter-John Falloon was named the CACC Coach of the Year. Freshman midfielder Sonny Narro (Stamford, CT) of Dominican College was awarded the CACC Rookie of the Year title and Goldey-Beacom College took home the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award.

Reid served as the main offensive threat for Chestnut Hill College (9-9, 5-6) all season. He led the team in goals (7), points (15), shots (49), and game-winning-goals (3) while ranking among the top ten in seven CACC offensive categories. Reid recorded both Griffin goals in a 4-2 loss at Caldwell College on September 11 and he headed in the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Post University on September 25, which led to an honorable mention for the CACC Player of the Week award on September 28. 

Reid’s offensive production helped Chestnut Hill College to their best National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II with a 9-9 overall mark and a 5-6 CACC standing. The Griffins will make their first-ever appearance in the CACC Championship Tournament with a 2:00 p.m. Opening Round contest at Philadelphia University on Tuesday, November 2.
