Litty Warrants Rookie CACC Rookie Award; Riiff Earns Fourth Honorable Mention

New Haven, CT – (10/31/2010) – Three assists in a 6-0 defeat of St. Thomas Aquinas College on October 28 earned sophomore midfielder Steph Litty (Marlton, NJ) the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Week. She was not the only Chestnut Hill College representative on the league’s weekly release, as junior forward Lauren Riiff (Clementon, NJ) earned her fourth honorable mention for the league’s player of the week award.

Litty shined in the season finale for Chestnut Hill College (13-3-2, 10-1-1), dishing out three assists in the Griffins 6-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College. The Griffins owned a 2-0 advantage over the Spartans, before Litty found sophomore forward Alyssa Radetich (Sewell, NJ) on a cross at 7:55. By halftime the Griffins held a 4-0 lead and in the second half Litty would connect with sophomore midfielder Alexandria Allizzo (Laurel Springs, NJ) and Riiff to push the margin to 6-0 before the game’s conclusion. The three-assist performance pushed Litty’s season-total eight, making her the CACC leader in assists this year. She also has one goal for ten points, total.

Riiff totaled two goals in the win over the Spartans, accounting for the Griffins first and last tallies of the contest. In doing so, she pushes her season goal total to career-high 14 goals and matches her career mark in points with 32 this season. She ranks among the top three in seven CACC offensive categories and she was named the CACC Player of the Week on September 21; she earned honorable mentions for the award on September 28, October 5, and October 12.
