Sam McDuffie Earns CACC Basketball Weekly Honorable Mention

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior guard/forward Sam McDuffie of the Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team has earned honorable mention from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for his performance during the week ending Nov. 14.

McDuffie registered a career-high 34 points in a 97-93, season-opening overtime loss to Franklin Pierce this past Sat. at the Jones Center. The Bronx, N.Y. native out of Bordentown High School (N.J.) shot 12-for-17 from the field and helped the Lightning force overtime by scoring the team’s final 11 points in regulation. He also pulled down six rebounds on Sat. to become the school’s second all-time leading rebounder with 404.

This marks the third weekly honor from the conference that McDuffie has received in his career. His freshman season he earned two rookie of the week awards (11/19/07, 1/21/08).

Heading into tonight’s game against Shippensburg at the Jones Center, McDuffie needs 18 points to reach the 1,000-point milestone for his career.
