Paquette Delivers Mars Hill Win vs. Milligan

Lions advance to SAC Tournament at Catawba

MARS HILL, N.C. - Sarah Paquette dished out 33 assists and recorded eight digs in her final home match as Mars Hill defeated Milligan in three sets inside Stanford Arena. The Lions won by scores of 26-24, 25-15 and 25-15 to finish the regular season 13-11 overall. The Lady Buffs drop to 23-13.

Before the match, Paquette and student athletic trainer Lauren Dogariu were honored for their hard work and dedication to Mars Hill College during their careers.

Marissa Wixson posted a double-double for Mars Hill with 11 kills and 11 digs. Evie Tafunai had a team-high 12 kills. Maggie Murphy came up with 27 digs.

Holly English led Milligan with 12 kills. Morgan Rutledge netted 25 digs. Chelsea Spivey had 27 assists.

The Lions drilled seven service aces compared to only one for the Lady Buffs.

Mars Hill moves on to the 2010 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament at Catawba. The quarterfinal matches begin on November 12.
