Merrimack Volleyball Winners of Five Straight after Big 3-0 Win over Adelphi

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Behind its fifth straight victory, the Merrimack volleyball team moved into playoff position with a 3-0 win over third-place Adelphi Saturday afternoon.

Game scores were 25-17, 25-23, 25-23.

The victory puts the Warriors into the eighth and final spot in the playoff hunt in the Northeast-10. Merrimack capped off a weekend in which it defeated second-place Pace 3-1 and third-place Adelphi 3-0.

They are now 10-13 overall, 8-6 in the conference and heads to Franklin Pierce for a non-conference match Tuesday night at 7 p.m. before closing out the regular season against Assumption on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Volpe Gym.

Molly Cindric (Westlake Village, CA) notched her 11th double-double of the season on 16 kills and 11 digs and hit .265 overall. Jenna Reilly (Northport, NY) added nine kills, four blocks and hit .421, while Alyssa Pickert (Tinley Park, IL) tallied 23 digs defensively. Elyse Lorenz (Frankfurt, IL) netted 35 assists and seven digs to go with two blocks.

The Warriors only trailed once in the first two sets, surviving a late rally from the Panthers before overcoming 10 tie scores and four lead changes to close out the match with a third-set 25-23 victory.

Merrimack hit .199 overall, forcing 26 Panther attack errors, while committing just 13 errors.

Hilary Pavels led Adelphi with a double-double on 13 kills and 18 digs.
