Texas A&M-Kingsville Football Jumps to #2 in Rankings

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – The Texas A&M-Kingsville football team moved up to second in the latest NCAA Division II Super Region Four Rankings that was released on Monday.
      
The Javelinas (9-1) moved up two spots in the regional poll and would be in line to receive a first round bye and host a second round playoff game if the rankings hold through next week.
      
Abilene Christian is currently first in the region with the only perfect record at 10-0.  Northwest Missouri State is third and they are followed by Central Missouri, West Texas A&M and Missouri Western.  The top six teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Division II Playoffs that begin on November 20.
      
The Javelinas remained fourth in the American Football Coaches Association Poll for the second straight week.  Minnesota-Duluth continues to be ranked first and they are followed by Abilene Christian and Northwest Missouri.  Joining the Javelinas and ACU from the Lone Star Conference in the poll are West Texas A&M (19th) and Midwestern State (25th).
      
The Javelinas play their final game of the regular season on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Southeastern Oklahoma in Javelina Stadium.
