Otters Volleyball Sweep Humboldt State

SEASIDE, Calif. - The Cal State Monterey Bay women's volleyball achieved its fourth sweep of the year, pulling out a 25-17, 25-22 and 25-14 victory over Humboldt State tonight at the Kelp Bed.

With this victory, the Otters eclipsed thier season win record (15-8, 12-8) with two regular season matches remaining.

Junior outside hitter Rheann Fall had a team-high 20 kills and 13 digs to record her 14th double-double of the year.  Sophomore setter Monique Sena nabbed her fourth double-double, dishing out 31 assists on top of 11 digs.  Junior middle blocker Melanie Lashbrook contributed eight kills and sophomore outside hitter Lauren Ding added seven kills.

The Otters hit a season-high .340 with 43 kills, seven errors on 103 attempts. CSUMB outblocked the Lumberjacks seven to three with both teams recording four aces.

The Lumberjacks were led by outside hitter Oceana Matsubu's 13 kills and libero Brooke Ferguson had a game-high 19 digs.

The Otters play their final two games of the regular season next week, welcoming Cal State Stansialus on Thursday, Nov. 11 followed by a match-up against Chico State on Friday, Nov. 12.  Both games begin at 7 p.m.
