CC Brooks leads Bulldogs to 80-71 victory at North Greenville Thursday night

Tigerville, S.C.----Wingate University senior guard CC Brooks (Gastonia, N.C.) had 22 points and six assists and junior forward Simone Rutledge (Atlanta, Ga.) recorded a double-double as the Bulldogs rallied for a 80-71 NCAA Division II victory over North Greenville University Thursday night in Hayes Gymnasium.
           
With the victory, Wingate improves to 3-2 overall. The Bulldogs open South Atlantic Conference play Saturday, hosting Lincoln Memorial University at 2 p.m. The NGU Crusaders are 1-6 overall.
           
Brooks posted a season-high for the visiting Bulldogs in her 32 minutes of action. Rutledge had 15 points and 14 rebounds in 33 minutes. The Tennessee Tech transfer contributed two blocks and two steals. Freshman forward Chantal Dunbar (Norfolk, Va.) had a huge game with career-high totals of 15 points and nine rebounds.
