MSU Picked in NSIC Men's Indoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches' Poll

Burnsville, Minn. - Minnesota State University, Mankato was the top choices in the 2010-11 NSIC Men's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Mavericks garnered seven first place votes and 79 points. MSU Moorhead was second with 70 points while Augustana was third with 67 points. Both received a first place votes as did Minnesota Duluth, who was eighth with 29 points.

Novak returns to anchor the Maverick field athletes this winter after claiming the 2010 NSIC Pole Vault Title with a vault of 16’8”. Novak, who was an All-American in the pole vault a year ago, followed up his league championship with a second-place finish at the national meet with a vault of 16’11”.

Robinson completed his rookie season as one of the top conference newcomers as he qualified for the NCAA DII Outdoor and Indoor Championships. He qualified in the outdoor 110 meter hurdles and 60 meter indoor where he was the events’ champion for MSUM at both Conference Championships last spring. He ran the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 14.59 at the NSIC Championships and finished 12th overall at the NCAA Championships after going in ranked 15th in the nation. No only speedy in the hurdles, Robinson was also a member of the Dragons record setting 4x100 relay team that set a new school record at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships.
